Effects of gas–solid reaction on liquid defiltration in a MCM-41

چکیده
Throughapressure-induced infiltration experiment, it is validated that thedegreeof hydrophobicity of the nanopore surfaces of aMCM-41 can be increased through gas–solid treatment. Comparedwith the effects of liquid–solid treatment, the infiltration pressure does not vary much while the defiltration pressure is higher, indicating that the reversibility of confined liquid motion is improved; that is, the sorption curve is less hysteretic. The liquid composition and the post-treatment procedure also have considerable influences on the infiltration and defiltration behaviors. © 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Influence of surface treatment on defiltration of confined liquid in MCM-41
The effects of post-modification treatment and chlorotrimethylsilane concentration on defiltration behaviors of pressurized liquid confined in a hydrophobic MCM-41 are investigated experimentally. If the chlorotrimethylsilane concentration is relatively low, liquid defiltration can be promoted by extensive drying at elevated temperature or extensive washing at room temperature. If the chlorotri...
متن کاملLow Temperature Catalytic Cracking of Heavy Feedstock Optimized by Response Surface Method
Upgrading of cracked PFO (Pyrolysis fuel oil) for production of fuels, such as gasoline and light gasoil, was carried out in a semi batch reactor. Two different kinds of mesoporous and microporous catalysts, MCM-41 and ZSM-5, were used. Modification methods, such as ion exchange and impregnation with Fe and Ti, were done for tuning the acidity of the catalyst. XRD, FT-IR, and XRF analyzes were ...
متن کاملSynthesis of TMBQ using Cu(II)-substituted MCM-41 as the catalyst
Mesoporous MCM-41 molecular sieves substituted with various amounts of Cu(II) and Al(III) were synthesized by the hydrothermal method. The resultant materials were characterized by XRD, XANES, surface area and pore size measurement, EPR and 27Al solid state NMR. The Cu(II)-substituted MCM-41 was found to be an efficient catalyst in the oxidation of trimethylphenol (TMP) to trimethylbenzoquinone...
متن کاملSuppression effect of liquid composition on defiltration of nanofluids in lyophobic environment
Understanding nanofluidic behaviours in energetically unfavourable confining environments is essential for the development of high-performance nanoporous energy absorption systems. In the current study, the effect of liquid composition on defiltration in a hydrophobic nanoporous silica gel is investigated experimentally using two types of admixtures: carbamide of a relatively small molecular si...
متن کاملSynthesis and characterization of Nanoparticles Poly Ethylene Imine-Functionalized MCM-41by Covalent Anchoring as a Solid Catalyst for Multi-Component Reactions
A novel magnetically immobilized polyethyleneimine (PEI) fabricated by covalently anchoring on MCM-41 (MCM-41@PEI) was prepared. The synthesized catalyst was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The immobilized PEI was shown to be an ef...
